Responsibilities
- Define and drive GraphQL architecture – Establish the reference architecture, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Establish schema governance and versioning strategy – Define GraphQL schema best practices, enforce Super graph governance, and develop an effective versioning strategy.
- Lead architectural discussions – Guide engineers and architects in designing scalable and efficient GraphQL-based integration solutions.
- Act as a GraphQL ambassador – Enable business units to effectively leverage GraphQL by providing guidance and fostering adoption.
- Collaborate with segment architects – Gather requirements, align with architectural directions, and communicate these effectively to the team.
- Support technical roadmap and planning – Assist the Digital Product Owner (DPO) in defining the technical roadmap and delivery plans, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision.
- Translate high-level requirements into actionable work items – Clearly define purpose, scope, and expected outcomes for development tasks.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles – Secure adherence to the North Star architecture and ensure compliance with security directives and policies.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in integration implementation and architecture.
- Hands-on experience in implementing subgraphs and federated super graphs from scratch using any GraphQL platform, with expertise in Schema Design, Queries, Mutations, and Subscriptions.
- Sound knowledge on the Schema governance, GraphQL versioning strategy.
- Proficiency in API-led architecture and experience with API Management tools.
- Expertise in designing and implementing integration architectures.
- Familiarity with Observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and Splunk.
- Experience working in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Prior experience as part of a central integration team, enabling integration products and defining processes and methodologies for product adoption.
